There were quite a few stories about Carlos Sainz going to Renault, even driving for Renault in Hungary.

Cyril Abiteboul also defused the situation by refuting the stories about Palmer being replaced. He confirmed that Jolyon Palmer will be driving in Hungary.

Now Carlos Sainz also joined the song by stating his mind is fully on Toro Rosso and Hungarian GP: "I am not thinking about anything except the Hungarian grand prix with Toro Rosso.”

Honestly, Jolyon Palmer had his chance. It's true he had issues with reliability, but even when his car was running perfectly he didn't show anything that would say "Yeah, this guy can drive." There's a lot of other talent on the grid that should be given a chance, and Renault, as a works team, should not settle for second or third best. If they want to fight for podiums next year or year after that, they have to attract and go after drivers that can do it.

I see how the stories can affect the atmosphere in the team, but truth be told the team is fighting for points, and Palmer is not delivering. Everything is on Hulkenberg who is doing a great job. Renault did a good thing by bringing him in the team, but they should have replaced both drivers, not just Magnussen.
